Ellipsoid
This is an image of a flattented ellipsoid (pancake). On ellipsoids like
this, the third shortest geodesic is not (as expected) the third major ellipse
but rather the one above. And we also have a whole 1-parameter family
of such geodesics. Since if we move our starting point along the horizontal
equator, we will obtain each time a similar geodesic of the same length.
